Join us on the lawn at the Center for the Study of the American South for brunch and conversation with guest editors Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Michelle Lanier, and Johnica Rivers. Also view “Memorable Proof,” a site-specific installation by Letitia Huckaby, also featured in the issue.

Building on the legacies of Harriet Jacobs’s life and work, our summer issue explores sojourning as a creative and intellectual act, specifically engaging landscapes as experiential and revolutionary research. Sojourning considers how we reimagine and re-experience place as liberatory through Black geographies, feminist mapping, and womanist cartography.
