RISING: Perspectives of Change on the North Carolina Coast
On view at the Coastal Studies Institute
RISING is a collaborative research project that uses photography and oral history to better understand coastal communities’ beliefs and understandings regarding climate change, and is featured in the Coastal Food Issue (Spring 2018) of Southern Cultures. RISING includes photographs by Baxter Miller, and oral histories collected by Ryan Stancil and Barbara Garrity-Blake.
This project is made possible by a Community Collaborative Research Grant, a program of North Carolina Sea Grant in partnership with the William R. Kenan Jr. Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science at NC State University. Special thanks to our co-sponsors, Food For All, the Coastal Resilience Center, and the Department of American Studies.
